Grafting of maleic anhydride on polyethylene is found to take place also in a homogeneous medium. The course of reaction in nitrogen and in air and the influence of temperature of initiator and polymer concentrations suggest that grafting is due to the chain transfer reaction to polyethylene.  相似文献

Bis(ethoxycarbonyl)alkylidene derivatives 4 and 5 of the respective title hydrazones were obtained in the reactions with diethyl oxomalonate, diethyl oxosuccinate, diethyl 2‐oxoglutarate, and diethyl oxalo‐propionate as mixtures of geometric isomers with high predominance of one of them. On heating at 160‐200° without any solvent or on refluxing in ethanol 4 cyclized to yield the corresponding pyri‐dazino[6, 1‐c]triazines 6 , whereas heating of 5 gave, depending on the chain length, the corresponding pyra‐zolylpyridazines 8b and 8d or the pyridazinylpyridazine 8c . X‐ray analysis was used to determine the structures of 6 and 8 ; the unit cell of 6c was found to accommodate 16 molecules representing four conforma‐tional varieties. The different behavior of 4 and 5 in the cyclization reactions was interpreted in terms of the tautomeric equilibrium which was shifted towards the enamine form in 4 , and towards the imine form, in 5 . Transmission of a long‐range chirality effect in 4d and 5a‐d manifested itself in the 1H nmr spectra as the magnetic non‐equivalence of the CH2 protons in one or both ester ethyl groups.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to observe and document variations in configuration and movement of the lower vocal tract and selected laryngeal structures in a sample of normal speakers. Ten men and ten women, ranging in age from 21 to 33 years, judged to have normal voices, were examined fiber-optically. Each subject engaged in a set protocol of phonatory and nonphonatory tasks and all examinations were videotaped. Judges reviewed these recordings with special attention to the following structures: pharyngeal wall, epiglottis, pyriform sinuses, ventricular folds, true vocal folds and the arytenoid complex. Extensive variability among these normals was observed anatomically and physiologically.  相似文献

Organometallic compounds are widely spread in the human environment sometimes, causing a substantial health risk. Their amphiphilic character enables them to intercalate and penetrate cell membranes, potentially affecting various vital cell functions. Compound adsorption onto the membrane depends on the compound properties, as well as on the membrane composition and state. When adsorbing onto the lipidic surface, phenyltins localize at areas where lipid bilayer organization is compatible with compound spatial requirements. The lipid bilayer is a dynamic and laterally nonuniform structure with complex local and global architecture correlated with a variety of cell functions. The selective binding of a toxic compound to selected membrane areas may, therefore, interfere with some types of cellular process. We present experimental results concerning phenyltin adsorption onto the lipid bilayer surface measured with the fluorescent probe fluorescein‐PE. Model lipid bilayers were formed from lipid mixtures mimicking various plasma membrane regions. The adsorption of Ph3SnCl and P2SnCl2 onto the phosphatidylcholine–cholesterol bilayer was qualitatively different from sphingomyelin–cholesterol. The results presented indicate that phenyltins are likely to accumulate in areas containing phosphatidylcholine, outside of lipid rafts. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The present study was designed to assess the effect of head position on glottic closure as reflected in airflow rates (open quotient and maximum flow declination rate), in patients with unilateral vocal fold paralysis. Ten patients, 2 males and 8 females ranging in age from 40 to 75, with a mean age of 57.3, served as subjects. Airflow measures were taken during sustained phonation of two vowels (/i/ and /a/) in 3 head positions (center, right, left). Vowels /i/ and /a/ were produced at subject's comfortable pitch and loudness, with random ordering of both vowel order and head orientation. Subjects were trained to focus eye gaze on right and left markers (70-degree angle) and a central marker at eye level directly in front of the subject. Theoretically, if turning the head during phonation alters the laryngeal anatomic relationship by bringing the vocal folds in closer proximity to one another, then airflow rate should lessen. Our results indicate that head position does not improve glottic closure in these patients, which is in contrast to previously published research.(1) Our results question the utility and underlying theoretical construct for the use of head turning as a therapeutic technique for improvement of voice in patients with unilateral vocal fold paralysis.  相似文献

We report surface‐enhanced Raman studies on intact plant material using onion layers as a biological target, and silver nanoaggregates and silver island films as enhancing plasmonic structures. Surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) enhancement allows the detection of strong Raman signatures of chemical constituents of the surface of the onion layer such as cellulose, proteins, and flavonols. Because of long‐time incubation, SERS sensors can access the extracellular space in the inner of the layer. The location of silver nanoparticles inside the onion layer has been monitored by the SERS images collected from chemicals present in the onion and/or reporter molecules attached to the nanoparticles. Our studies show a competitive adsorption of intrinsic bio molecules of the onion layer and reporter molecules. Different spectra from different places of the layer indicate the complex heterogeneous chemical structure of the plant material. The pH‐sensitive reporter molecule para mercapto benzoic acid attached to the nanoparticles allows us to infer pH values inside the extracellular matrix of the onion layer. We demonstrate a phase transfer method to create stable colloidal solutions of Au nanoparticles with 4-methoxypyridine ligands. We then investigate the adsorption behavior of 4-methoxypyridine onto gold surfaces by Raman spectroscopy, DFT calculations, and (1)H NMR. In contrast to unsubstituted pyridine and the frequently used (N,N-dimethylamino)pyridine (DMAP), a flat adsorption of 4-methoxypyridine on gold was found.  相似文献
